Croatia April 2021: Opel Corsa leads market up 284.2% year-on-year but down -51.7% on two years ago

The Croatian new car market surges 284.2% year-on-year in April to 4.165 units but remains down a steep -51.7% on two years ago. At 14.684 units, the year-to-date tally is now up 32.1% on the same period in 2020 but down -29% on 2019. Both Volkswagen (+188.7%) and Skoda (+187%) advance sower than the market but remain in the lead just as Opel (+635.8%) shoots up six spots on March to land on the third step of the podium. Suzuki (+861.5%) also impresses below as well as Citroen (+564%), Hyundai (+493.3%), Kia (+440.5%) and Peugeot (+400%). Renault (+218.3%) and Dacia (+208.7%) are weaker.

Over in the models ranking, the Opel Corsa (+1526.3%) soars to pole position and climbs from #15 to #5 in the year-to-date ranking. It topples the traditional Croatian leader, the Skoda Octavia (+170.2%) which however remains on top year-to-date. The VW T-Cross (+434.4%) stays in third place and cements its 2nd spot YTD, the highest in the world, while the VW T-Roc (+580%) advances one rank on last month to #4. The Suzuki Vitara (+716.7%), Renault Clio (+465%), Skoda Kamiq (+373.9%) and Citroen C3 (#8) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10 while further down the Peugeot 2008 (+1480%) and 208 (+788.9%) make themselves noticed and both break into the year-to-date Top 20.
