Belgium April 2021: BMW (+2.8%) cements domination in market down -30.5% on two years ago

BMW is #1 in Belgium for the 4th straight month.

At 37.192 registrations, the Belgian new car market is up 602.3% year-on-year but down -30.5% on the 53.498 units of two years ago in April 2019. The year-to-date tally is now up 16.5% year-on-year but down -26.1% on two years ago to 154.630 units. All evolutions from now on are vs. April 2019. BMW (+2.8%) posts the only gain vs. two years ago in the Top 15, cementing its newfound domination of the Belgian charts with a fourth consecutive month on top. It holds 10.9% share vs. 10.6% so far this year. In contrast Volkswagen (-35.9%) endures the steepest fall in the Top 5 at 9% share, distancing Peugeot (-16.8%), Audi (-13.7%) and Mercedes (-25.1%) all outpacing the market but in negative. At the other end of the scale, Renault (-56.4%), Opel (-44.8%) and Ford (-43.7%) all struggle in the remainder of the Top 10 while Volvo (-20%) and Citroen (-27%) resist somewhat. Mini (+2.7%), Land Rover (-1.2%), Subaru (+90%) and Ferrari (+10%) stand out further down. Polestar advances to #33, Cupra to #33 and we welcome Chinese outlet Lynk & Co at #47 with 3 sales.
